Coordinator, CTE Pathway Liaison (26-27)

Essential Duties

  • Supports curriculum implementation, at the middle school level, for Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses through Professional Development.
  • Develops and aligns instructional supports to CMS district strategies.
  • Counsels new teachers, and other teachers as needed, on instructional support implementation content for strong student outcomes.
  • Works collaboratively with Instructional Facilitator Lead on new teacher licensure requirements.
  • Collaborates with school level instructional coordinators to build ongoing supports for teachers.
  • Works closely with Pathway Leads to build professional learning communities for PLTW Gateway teachers.
  • Analyzes data to identify areas of challenge and works in collaboration with teachers to implement solutions.
  • Works collaboratively with middle school Pathway Leads in order to ensure common goals and outcomes.
  • Collaborates with CTE leadership on opening of programs.

Special Populations

  • Serves as the Central Office Special Populations primary contact.
  • Creates a protocol for situations that call for special populations.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree and related CTE license, five years of teaching experience, hold a current CTE License relevant to middle school.
  • Desirable: Holds one or more PLTW MS course certifications, currently MS CTE/PLTW teacher, PLTW Master Teacher, Master's degree, built, led and sustained a PLC, leadership experience in middle, high school or organization demonstrating project management with cross-functional collaboration, experience coaching teachers and/or supervising teams.

Licensing / Certification Requirements

  • NC CTE Professional License

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Knowledge of NC Standard Course of Study for CTE.
  • Knowledge of CTE policies and regulations, work-based learning, and middle school PLTW design.
  • Project planning capabilities, including ability to establish long-term vision and goals, and experience aligning and managing activities toward execution of identified goals.
  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and effectively work in a team.
  • Leadership experience in identifying creative and innovative solutions which yields and promotes growth. Ability to problem solve, analyze data, and outline valid solutions and action steps.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt quickly amidst new and shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, organizational, and technology skills.
  • Growth oriented mindset; reflective, self-aware, and driven to learn from setbacks.
  • A record of success as demonstrated by superior academic and professional achievement.
