About the role
Universal Music Group is seeking a Copyright Coordinator to join the Miami office. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and brings strong organizational and administrative skills to the role.
Responsibilities
- Contact writer and publishing clients to request delivery of new song information and register these new songs into our system.
- Research incomplete data and liaise with A&R as needed to finalize registrations.
- Review the song schedules of newly signed writers for accuracy and research song status at the databases of CMOs to ensure registrations are correct.
- Assist in resolving song disputes and overclaims with clients and external parties.
- Create, maintain, and update song delivery lists of writer catalogues and review songwriters' contracts for fulfillment statuses.
- Maintain our client roster and update their contact information.
- Onboard new clients and help them navigate our royalty portal UMPG Windows.
- Answer external and internal song inquiries.
- Routinely send information to our mechanical licensing, film and TV licensing, digital copyright, and global administration departments.
- Aid the department with administrative duties as required.
Requirements
- Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish with impeccable oral and written communication skills.
- Meticulous and exceptional attention to details, especially with numbers.
- Proficient in entering large amounts of data in spreadsheets and skilled in Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Strong internet researching capabilities.
- Customer-service oriented: polite and courteous manner, strong interpersonal skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels, both internally within UMPG and externally with our clients and the music marketplace in general.
- An analytical problem solver.
- Cooperative and enthusiastic team player and collaborator.
- Organized and calm under pressure, strong project management skills, able to juggle and prioritize multiple projects within short turnover times.
- Able to learn quickly, maintain focus, and be resourceful in resolving roadblocks.
- Takes responsibility and ownership of tasks exhibiting excellent follow-through.
- A love and deep understanding of Latin music.
Qualifications
- 0-1 year of experience (basic understanding of music publishing a plus).
- AA or higher preferred.

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
