Coordinator: Business Development and Marketing

About the role
This Coordinator: Business Development and Marketing role will support the business development and administrative initiatives of Mayer Brown’s Global Product, Industry and/or Client Teams groups, strategic priorities of the Firm. This role is ideal for driven and flexible candidates interested in business development and marketing within a global, fast-paced, and intellectually stimulating organization. The position will also provide support for initiatives aligned with the Firm’s strategic plan and require close collaboration with the Global Business Development and Marketing team.
Responsibilities
- Supports direct marketing and business development programs, including planning and executing podcast and video recordings, seminars, sponsorships, and other events. Serves as a central resource for logistics (e.g., meeting rooms, telephone and video conferencing, event set-up, delivering materials). Manages communications, including invitations, RSVPs, meeting invites, internal socializing, and external communications. Leverages appropriate teams within the Firm to support tasks such as RSVPs, CLE credit, and catering. Attends meetings and events to provide on-site support.
- Coordinates initiatives related to research, data collection and analysis, directory submissions (e.g., Chambers), matter coding, economic reporting, intranet site development and maintenance, and internal meeting support.
- Works with marketing systems and shared drives, including maintaining information about win/loss for RFPs, CRM database updates, and experience database updates.
- Updates and maintains marketing materials, including industry profiles, attorney profiles, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Coordinates the production of client mailings, including newsletters, invitations, and other communications.
- Conducts research on prospective targets, industries, markets, competition, and conflicts using firm-wide resources, online databases, and library resources.
- Supports the development and tailoring of proposals, presentations, and marketing materials by gathering relevant information, drafting language, handling edits, proofreading, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Develops and maintains group-specific marketing content, including group and matter descriptions, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, website/blog content, social media posts, and biographies.
- Provides local office support for seminars, sponsorships, and other events and initiatives.
- Assists with general administrative tasks, including updating tracking documents, spreadsheets, submitting check requests, and expense reports.
- Provides back-up services to the team as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, business, research, or communications-related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered when directly related to the job functions.
- Two or more years of demonstrated success in a marketing, research, management, and/or communications-related field, either in professional services (e.g., law, accounting, or consulting) or in corporate, trade association, or academic sectors.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Proficiency with scheduling and participating in video conferences in a professional setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the Firm and outside vendors.
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment and support the demanding needs of the Firm.

Pay
The typical pay scale for this position is between USD $68,000.00 and USD $79,000.00 per year, although the actual wage or salary may vary based on the candidate's education, experience, skills, and internal pay alignment.
