Coordinator BMT Assistant

About the role

The BMT Coordinator Assistant position supports the mission of TriStar Centennial Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.

Responsibilities

• Promotes customer service initiatives
• Answers telephone promptly and appropriately
• Schedules BMT patient testing and procedures
• Obtains all test results and compiles in patient binders for coordinators
• Obtains and organizes new patient information
• Faxes all applicable information to BMT team distribution groups
• Follows directions as necessary to ensure the workflow of the department
• Supports the facility’s Standards of Performance and ICARE values
• Maintains knowledge and follows all CMS and JCAHO requirements
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Some post high-school training including medical terminology and knowledge of diagnostic testing
• Medical Assistant, Unit Secretary or other equivalent experience preferred

• Ability to operate a computer
