Coordinator Billing - Medicine Institute - Remote - Full Time
Troubleshooting and Customer Support
Troubleshoots billing issues and takes appropriate actions.
Assists customers with patient billing inquiries.
Identifies unpaid balances (insurance and patient) through A/R reports and takes appropriate actions.
Billing Department Oversight
Supervises work performed by billing staff.
Policies and Compliance
Maintains current knowledge of federal and state reimbursement policies/regulations and system policies.
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
Data Entry and Verification
Verifies insurance information via hospital and insurance carrier systems.
Enters patient demographic, insurance, and referral/precertification information in the billing system.
Other Duties
Performs all other duties as assigned, including but not limited to supporting front end office processes.
Qualifications
Minimum High school diploma or GED.
Graduate of a medical billing program or equivalent experience.
3-5 years’ experience in healthcare billing role.
Preferred Associate’s Degree.
