Responsibilities
- Coordinates and maintains academic records for student-athletes.
- Makes appointments with student-athletes to verify academic progress.
- Attends meetings with coaches to discuss academic matters.
- Serves as a liaison between student-athletes and various support services.
- Coordinates the preparation of learning plans tailored to each student athlete's intended major.
- Provides academic support services, including admissions, registration, and tutoring coordination.
- Develops and implements academic support programs and services, focusing on areas like study skills, time management, life skills, and career planning.
- Maintains communication with faculty regarding the academic progress of student athletes.
- Participates in professional development activities and training opportunities to stay informed of NCAA rules and university policies affecting student athletes.
- Adheres to all relevant state, university, NCAA, Conference USA, and department rules and policies.
- Reports any known NCAA violations or concerns to the Director of Athletic Compliance and monitors subordinates' adherence to NCAA regulations.
- Maintains confidentiality for the department, treating sensitive information about student-athletes and their academic and personal data with utmost care.
- Facilitates and coordinates continuing student-athletes' NCAA academic eligibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of appropriate experience, or Master's degree preferred.
- Experience working with student athletes.
- Education in Higher Education.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
