About the role

The Information Systems Coordinator actively participates in the design and evolution of the Electronic Health Record (EHR). This role provides oversight of all electronic processes and systems related to EHR in Health Information Management (HIM) and record‑processing functions, offering both technical and administrative support.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the EHR system to meet organizational needs.
• Provide oversight of all electronic processes and systems related to EHR in HIM and record‑processing functions.
• Deliver technical and administrative resource support for EHR initiatives.
• Create reports and review/correct data‑integrity issues.
• Develop and update policies and procedures related to EHR design, management, and maintenance.
• Produce training materials and provide ongoing training for physicians, HIM staff, and other users.

Skills

• Excellent overall knowledge of health information systems, practices, procedures, and guidelines.
• Strong computer system skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Proactive in seeking new methods and principles to improve services.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Requirements

• Three years of experience in information systems within a health information management environment.
• No specific license, registration, or certification required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required, preferably in Information Systems or a related field.
• Two additional years of education may be considered in lieu of the associate’s degree requirement.
