Cooperage Supervisor
Job Description/Responsibilities
Step into a hands-on leadership role at the heart of our cooperage operations, where you'll lead teams responsible for barrel production from stave jointing through charring and shipping. This position provides the opportunity to influence safety, quality, productivity, and employee development while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the operation. You'll work closely with maintenance, production, and leadership teams to drive operational performance and deliver high-quality products that meet customer expectations. This role offers meaningful leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead daily operations across jointing, barrel assembly, steel cutting, charring, and shipping departments to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
- Develop, coach, and supervise hourly team members while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor production performance, quality metrics, efficiencies, and costs while implementing corrective actions to improve results.
- Partner with maintenance and leadership teams to support equipment reliability, process improvements, and capital initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, TTB, environmental, quality, and food safety requirements while maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
Qualifications/Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in the logging, sawmill, lumber, cooperage, or wood products industry.
