About the role

At Wellspring Skilled Nursing & Rehab, we're looking for a Dining Services Cook who understands that great food is an important part of great care. As a Cook, you'll do more than prepare meals. You'll help create experiences that bring comfort, dignity, and enjoyment to the residents we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare nutritious, appetizing meals that support resident health, recovery, and overall well-being.
  • Carefully prepare therapeutic and modified-texture diets to ensure every resident receives meals that are both safe and enjoyable.
  • Follow recipes, menus, and food safety standards while maintaining the highest quality possible.
  • Work closely with fellow dining services team members to ensure meals are prepared and served on time and according to resident preferences whenever possible.
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment that supports safety, infection prevention, and excellent dining services.
  • Recognize that every meal you prepare contributes to a resident's comfort, health, and quality of life.
  • Prepare breakfast for residents beginning their day.
  • Create meals that support rehabilitation and recovery, accommodate specialized diets, or simply serve the comfort foods that make residents smile.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to two years of cooking experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and HACCP principles is helpful.
  • Experience preparing special diets or modified-texture meals is a plus.
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • A passion for serving others through food and hospitality.

Qualifications

Pay

$14.50 - $16.10 per hour.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours / week. Afternoon Shift (11:00am-7:30pm). Rotating weekends and holidays, required. No on-call.
