Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstations with ingredients and equipment
  • Measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel ingredients
  • Safely use utensils, including knives, and operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • Apply cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and sautéing to meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to guidelines
  • Store food properly by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor toward guests, customers, clients, and co-workers
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation
  • Ensure security of company assets

Job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Validated knowledge of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations (e.g., handling, sanitation, storage)
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • Wearing uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
