About the role

We are seeking a Full-Time Cook / Server (Dual Role) to join our team. This position involves preparing and serving meals in a senior living community, ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and sanitation.

Schedule

• 4-5 working days per week
• Cooking shifts: 6:30 AM - 2:00 PM or 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM
• Serving shifts: 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients for cooking (chopping, peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
• Cook food using various utensils or grillers
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn as needed
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before serving
• Serve meals to residents
• Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment
• Store all food and other items properly
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock and place orders when shortages occur

Requirements

• Proven dietary aide experience
• Experience using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Ability to work in a team
• Very good communication skills
• Excellent physical condition and stamina
• High school diploma or equivalent (Diploma from a culinary school is an advantage)
