Cook - PRN/Per-diem

About the role

As a PRN/Per-diem Cook, you will prepare foods for patients, staff, and guests, and may assist with general cleaning of the cooking and eating areas. In the absence of the Manager, you will supervise the dietary staff, ensuring adherence to facility and departmental policies, as well as proper sanitation, safety, and infection control standards.

Responsibilities

• Accept and understand both verbal and written instructions.
• Provide high-quality food preparation and service.
• Clean and maintain equipment to meet department standards.
• Maintain high standards of quality food production and portion control.
• Demonstrate a willingness to help with work that needs to be done.
• Take initiative to identify problems and bring about positive, sustainable solutions.

Requirements

• One (1) year of cooking experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Culinary Arts degree.
• Completion of state or local food safety training course.
• Healthcare experience.
