About the role

RUSH Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital dedicated to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronically ill patients. The hospital aims to provide compassionate, excellent care to its patients during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

Responsibilities

• Follow standardized recipes and portion control
• Clean and maintain equipment
• Prepare high-quality food for patients and the cafeteria
• Stay informed of nutritional services and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• One (1) year of cooking experience is required
• A High School degree or equivalent is preferred
• A Culinary Arts degree is preferred
• Completion of a state or local food safety-training course is preferred

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to follow directions
