Cook – Oregon State Hospital, Salem Campus
About the role
The Oregon State Hospital, a division of the Oregon Health Authority, seeks a Cook to join an excellent team. The ideal candidate will support the hospital's mission of fostering recovery and community reintegration in a safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Cook for 120+ people per meal in an institutional setting.
- Prepare therapeutic diets and texture modifications.
- Follow and apply food service policies and procedures.
- Obtain and maintain a food handler’s card within 30 days of hire.
- Hold a valid SERV Safe certification.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Show basic knowledge of arithmetic.
- Have a valid Oregon driver’s license.
Requirements
- One year of experience as a cook in a food service facility.
- Possession of a certificate of completion in culinary arts and/or food and hospitality service from a certified community college or technical school.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a cook.
- Valid SERV Safe certification.
- Basic knowledge of arithmetic.
- A valid Oregon driver’s license.
Qualifications

- Basic knowledge of arithmetic.
- A valid Oregon driver’s license.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $3,798 - $5,193 per month, depending on experience and qualifications. If the successful candidate qualifies for PERS, the salary range will increase by 6.95%.
