COOK, Nutrition Services - Full Time

About the role
This full-time Cook position offers full benefits and a convenient evening shift schedule. Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the cook performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties, preparing appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors according to recipes.
Responsibilities
- Determine types and quantities of all foods to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and printed tallies.
- Identify low-supply foods, supplies, and equipment; communicate needs to Director/Supervisor and assist in storing items appropriately after delivery.
- Prepare all foods according to approved recipes and appearance standards, using garnishes when appropriate.
- Ensure meals are ready at specified times and consult with Director/Supervisor regarding use of leftover food.
Requirements
- One to three (1-3) years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- ServSafe Certification preferred within 6 months of hire.
