About the Role
A member of the Foodservice Team responsible for ensuring excellent guest service through teamwork and initiative.
Responsibilities
- Open all coolers, turn on ovens, fryers, steam tables, salad bar, and fruit bar.
- Set up bread, butter, and other breakfast condiments.
- Prepare hot cereals, breakfast meats, eggs, breakfast specials, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches; ensure line is set up by café opening.
- Prep for the next day and handle special requests.
- Prepare grill position for lunch, serve during lunch, and batch cook while attending to guests.
- After lunch, remove food from the line, properly discard or cool down products, and store them away.
- Clean steam table, grill (including area underneath the counter), and maintain a sanitized work area.
- Complete GFS order and prep for the next day.
Food Safety & Sanitation
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Use proper PPE and practice "as you go" cleaning.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area, equipment, and tools.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food products to ensure freshness.
- Immediately report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues to management.
Requirements
- Cooking experience with knowledge of preparing eggs, sauces, casseroles, and sandwiches.
- Experience with volume production and batch cooking.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and a proven track record in guest service.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions, written recipes, and menu item instructions.
- Knowledge of the Foodservice menu system and the GFS ordering system; ability to order using the GFS computer system.
- Cashiering experience.
- Proactive team player with strong organizational skills and flexibility.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change positively.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Overtime required; flexible work schedule at times.
- Willingness to perform other assigned job duties.
- Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.
