About the role
The Napa Valley Wine Train is seeking a Line Cook II to join their team. This role involves preparing and cooking for guests on various train experiences, including lunch, dinner, and other seasonal events and private events. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cooking, particularly in pastry chef de partie, and possess excellent service skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals for guests on various train experiences
- Ensure excellent fine dining service experience
- Work in a fast-paced, small-space environment on a moving train
- Provide a memorable experience for guests
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of cooking experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
- Entry-level experience as Pastry Chef de Partie
- Thorough understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiarity with industry best practices
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Positive energy, receptivity to coaching, attention to detail, teamwork, and passion for fine dining
- Available for day or evening, holiday, and weekend shifts
- Serve Safe certification or ability to obtain certification
- Fluency in English (minimum)
