About the role

We are seeking sixty (60) full-time, temporary Cooks II to prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, breads, and other food items in a high-end restaurant environment. You will follow all Food & Beverage standard operating procedures and recipe standards, monitor inventory, and alert the Sous Chef of low stock. You will operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment including deep fryers, broilers, stoves, steamers, food processors, ovens, steam tables, and flat-top grills. Occasional driving of company vehicles to transport supplies or employees may be required when shuttles are unavailable.

Responsibilities

• Follow all F&B standard operating procedures and recipe standards
• Prepare, season, and cook a variety of food items including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and breads
• Monitor food inventory and alert Sous Chef of low stock items
• Operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment (deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, oven, steam table, flat-top grill)
• Occasionally drive company vehicles to transport supplies or employees

Requirements

• Three (3) months of culinary experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, lift up to 40 pounds, stand, walk, talk, and hear
• Constant use of hands and fingers to handle, organize, or lift items
• Constant use of vision to assess accuracy, neatness, attention to detail, and thoroughness of work
• Must complete a pre-employment background check at the employer’s expense
• All worksites are within Gallatin and Madison Counties in Montana; occasional travel within this area is required

Pay

• Wage: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly
• Overtime: $37.50 - $52.50 per hour
• Additional income via service charge

Schedule

• 40 hours per week
• Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Workdays: Monday through Sunday
• Example shifts: 7:00am - 3:00pm or 3:00pm - 11:00pm (hours vary by location and may include early morning, morning, afternoon, evening, or late evening)
• A single workweek is used to compute wages due

• After 3,200 hours worked (subject to conditions), workers qualify as “Key Seasonal” and may be eligible for:

  • Vacation and sick time accrual
• All workers (Key Seasonal and Seasonal) are eligible to enroll in a 401k
• Employer guarantees work for at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period
• Employer covers all tools, supplies, and equipment required for the job
• Transportation and subsistence reimbursement:
  • Employer pays or reimburses inbound transportation and subsistence costs within the first workweek
  • Upon 50% completion of the contract, employer pays or reimburses transportation and subsistence from place of recruitment
  • Upon contract completion or early dismissal, employer covers reasonable outbound transportation and subsistence costs (except if worker secures subsequent employment)
  • Daily subsistence: $16.78 per day (up to $68.00 per day with receipts)
• H-2B workers reimbursed in the first workweek for visa, visa processing, border crossing, and related government-mandated fees (excluding passport fees)
