About the Role

Work with a purpose at the IAH Secure Adult Detention Facility in Livingston, Texas. Join our team to help secure the safety of our community while positively impacting the lives of those on the inside.

Responsibilities

• Prepare facility meals in accordance with pre-planned menus.
• Cook the required quantity of food based on the menu and number of detainees.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in an orderly and workable condition.
• Ensure the work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
• Maintain accountability of kitchen tools.
• Prepare foods for special facility functions and visitors.
• Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal.
• Supervise detainees assigned to assist in the kitchen.

This role requires long periods of walking and standing, as well as pushing and pulling food carts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food service training, one (1) year of food service or related experience, and prior supervisory experience are preferred.
• Must obtain a food handlers permit within the first week of employment.
• Successfully complete required preservice training.
• A valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Pay

$19.28 per hour
