About the role

Big E's is a fast-paced, high-energy workplace with endless opportunities for skill development and advancement. First and second shifts available; weekend availability required. Position offered as full-time or part-time and can be used as a paid internship.

Starting at $18/hour, negotiable based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly, positive manner
• Ask questions of guests and make personal connections so they feel welcome and valued
• Prepare all required items according to make sheets/recipes while upholding Big E's standards
• Set up service units with needed items
• Service items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards
• Notify the Back of House Manager of expected shortages
• Ensure that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary
• Set up, maintain, clean, and break down prep cook station
• Follow all open/close/cleaning checklists presented by management
• Adhere to local health and safety regulations
• Maintain any logs required by the health department
• Follow all Suburban Inns processes
• Exhibit regular and recurrent attendance records
• Other duties as requested by management

Requirements

Minimum Knowledge

• Ability to interpret/extract information and/or perform arithmetic functions
• May require typing, record keeping, or word processing
• Good communication skills

Formal Education and Job-Related Experience

• Prior restaurant experience preferred

License, Registration, and/or Certification Required

• ServSafe Food and Allergen Certification

Schedule

• Work regularly requires or varies between day, evening, night, holiday, and/or weekend assignments
• Schedule varies according to business demands and needs
• No travel to other Suburban Inns properties or client locations required; work is completed on the property

Uniform & Appearance

Uniform Guidelines

• Uniform shirt, hat, and name tag provided
• Team members responsible for their own pants and shoes meeting Suburban Inns specifications
• Pants: chef pants, black slacks/dockers, or dark wash jeans with no holes (no yoga-style)
• Shoes: black, close-toed, non-slip

Appearance Guidelines

• Hair must be kept well-groomed
• All facial piercings and tattoos not covered by the work uniform must be approved by management
• Any tattoo deemed offensive based on racial, sexual, religious, ethnic, or other protected characteristics must remain covered or concealed at all times
• Policy administered by the position's supervisor without regard to protected characteristics; Vice President of Operations has veto authority
