About the role
Rib Crib is looking for a Cook who's ready to jump in, work hard, and help deliver smoky, saucy, fall-off-the-bone BBQ to every guest. No pitmaster experience is required—we'll teach you the smoker if you bring the hustle.
Responsibilities
- Prepping, cutting, and smoking meats and poultry
- Keeping the kitchen moving—from prep to plate, fast and clean
- Hustling pans, trays, and containers between stations, smokers, and coolers
- Maintaining a spotless station (a clean kitchen is a happy kitchen)
- Jumping in wherever the team needs you—teamwork is key
Requirements
- Availability nights and weekends (required)
- Strong work ethic and ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced kitchen
- Ability to follow recipes and prep instructions
- Positive attitude and team-first mindset
- BBQ experience is a plus but not required (training provided)
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly (occasionally up to 80 lbs)
- Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Permit where required
Skills & Qualifications
- Capable of reading kitchen prep books and manuals to prepare food recipes
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
- Proficient use of restaurant equipment (convection ovens, grills, fryers, smokers, steam tables, microwaves, etc.)
- Six months of previous job-related experience (as determined by management)
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Most work performed from a standing position for long periods
- Frequent walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, cutting, carrying, kneeling, or stooping
- Occasional lifting up to 80 pounds (typically up to 30 pounds)
