Job Summary/Basic Function
Kitchen Organization and Inventory
Organize kitchen supplies, food items, and storage areas.
Rotate inventory using proper food safety procedures.
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Monitor supply levels and report shortages to supervising staff.
Label and organize food items and kitchen materials.
Cleaning and Sanitation
Wash dishes, utensils, and food preparation equipment.
Clean countertops, tables, sinks, and food preparation areas.
Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and serving areas.
Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.
Follow all sanitation, food safety, and health department requirements.
Other Tasks
Other tasks in the Charter Academy as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Food Handler’s Permit
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with food and large kitchen equipment.

- Physical Activity: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles etc., using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Agility is emphasized.
- Physical Requirements: Light work. Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- Visual Acuity Requirements: Required to have close visual acuity to inspect small defects, small parts at distances close to the eye.
