About the role
The Cook will prepare and serve meals for summer camps and rental groups. Manage the meal program in the absence of the Food Services Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and serve meals in conjunction with Food Services Supervisor
- Maintain a sanitary work environment
- Monitor donations and other food and non-food inventory
- Help create and maintain a comfortable and respectful environment for guests
- Clean and properly arrange the freezer, cooler, and pantry on a weekly basis
- Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, report meal counts for the Summer Food Service Program
- Provide seasonal support as requested
- Be available to work nights and weekends
- Other duties as assigned by the Corps Officers
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completed the Restaurant Servsafe Certification program or will complete within six (6) months of hire
- Valid driver’s license and pass MVR requirements for Salvation Army insurance
Qualifications
- One year food service experience
Skills
- Ability to relate to individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds
- Ability to be a self-starter; can work independently
