Requirements
- Prior cooking experience onboard a fishing vessel is required
- A current Alaska Food Worker card is required
- ServeSafe certification is desired
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- At least 24 months of relevant work experience in the last 4 years is required
Qualifications
- Education verification will be required prior to hire
- Physical demands include being able to board and exit the vessel, ascend and descend steep stairways, lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks
- Mental activities require understanding and communicating in English for emergency, safety, and training purposes
Skills
- Use independent judgment and discretion
- Train and direct the activities of the assistant cook
- Wipe down high touch points in common area of vessel with a bleach & water solution

Pay
Average of $550-$650 per day
Schedule
Typical work hours are 16.5 hours per day, 7 days per week. Work hours may be extended during offload or backload which may result in uneven shifts and sleep patterns.
