Conveyor Technician (Graveyard Shift)

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Repair all types of Conveyor equipment that RW sells and services.
  • Proficient in lacing, splicing, cutting, vulcanized, and cold bonding belts.
  • Mechanical, Electric, Pneumatic and software integration problem solving.
  • Perform alignment & tracking of belts.
  • Update training and skills on a continuing basis.
  • Train other employees as needed.
  • Maintain a profitable billing level.
  • Follow all Service Department procedures.
  • Communicate with assigned leadership.
  • Complete all service documentation in a timely, accurate fashion.
  • Communicate all options to customers before proceeding with work.
  • Complete jobs within quoted time limits when applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly (inside and outside) vehicle.
  • Maintain an accurate assigned parts inventory, if applicable.
  • Represent the company favorably in all situations.
  • Report all accidents promptly, regardless of fault.
  • Account for 100% of available time during working hours.
  • Coordinate all overtime with assigned supervisor.
  • Follow all procedures in the company’s Employee Handbook.
  • Follow safety procedures and use good judgment in regard to safety.
  • Work out of town as necessary.
  • Establish a positive rapport with customers.
  • Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by the Service management.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Organizational Time Management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office Suite and similar software.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co-workers, and Managers in other departments.
  • Willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required.
  • Maintain personally owned tools according to approved minimum tool list.
  • Maintain additional tools as required by duties and certification level.
  • Must be able to take directions.
  • Must be a team player, i.e., to work with peers.
  • Have working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Have mechanical abilities.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance.
  • Be willing and able to learn quickly and perform accurately and neatly with a degree of flexibility.
  • Be motivated to continuous self-development and training.
  • Be willing to assume more responsibility as required.

Education/Experience

  • A high school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years breakdown experience or comparable service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
  • The position is non-sedentary.
  • The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to smell.
  • The employee is required to climb/balance/stoop/kneel/crawl.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.

Working Hours

Weekdays (Monday through Friday), 5 p.m. through 7 a.m. (or variable as required, dependent on Customer needs).

Pay Range

The hourly range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00. The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
