JOB SUMMARY:The Converting Technician is responsible for the safe setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintaining the equipment that will be used to convert flexible packaging films. This position ensures products are slit to customer specifications while maintaining quality standards, production efficiency, and workplace safety. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:Set up and operate slitting machines according to job specificationsRead and interpret work orders and production instructionsMonitor machine operation to ensure proper tension, alignment, and cut accuracyMeasure finished rolls to verify width, diameter, and quality standardsInspect materials for defects and ensure finished products meet quality requirementsPerform routine machine adjustments and basic preventative maintenanceComplete required production documentation accurately and timelyMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standardsCommunicate effectively with leadership and warehouse teamsPerform other related duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:High school diplomaPrevious experience in manufacturing, converting, or slitting operations preferredMechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipmentAbility to read measuring devicesStrong attention to detail and quality focusAbility to stand for extended periodsLift up to 60 poundsFrequent bending, reaching and material handlingAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to contribute to continuous improvement opportunities BENEFITS:At Phenix, we believe in taking care of our people—both personally and professionally.
