Conversion Crew

About the role

Conversion Crew members are responsible for converting the building for various events, including installation and removal of the basketball floor, retractable seating, stages, moving furniture, and other setup duties. This physically demanding, part-time, year-round position requires availability for a flexible schedule based on the event calendar, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setups, changeovers, and operational tasks as directed, including tables, flooring, risers, and portable seating, ensuring safe and efficient completion for smooth transitions between events.
• Perform facility operational tasks on non-event days, such as storing equipment, furniture, and tools, and identifying damaged equipment.
• Ensure proper maintenance of all equipment and arrange for repair or replacement of damaged items.
• Work with in-house staff to meet production requirements and execute promoter/client requests.
• Contribute to team dynamics by assisting coworkers, maintaining a safe and clean work area, and fostering a positive work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of event changeovers and setups.
• Able to read, communicate, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to multi-task and function in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines safely and efficiently.
• Professional interaction with coworkers and the general public.
• Ability to regularly lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs., and to kneel, stoop, bend, climb stairs, and reach/lift above head.
• Working knowledge of assembly operations equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, staging equipment, trussing, hand tools, and power tools.
• Compliance with safety policies and procedures, including using cleaning chemicals and reporting incidents.
• Reliability and consistent attendance, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certification.
• Knowledge of staging and production equipment.
