About the role
Responsible for performing set-up and tear-down duties before and after events in the Resch Complex. Demonstrates and embodies the PMI Entertainment Group Culture and Customer Service values.
Responsibilities
- Performs set-up duties before an event such as setting up tables, erecting hockey dashers, laying down the basketball floor, installing the ice rink, etc.
- Performs tear-down duties after an event such as tearing down the hockey dashers, tables, chairs, curtains, etc.
- Places all equipment in respective storage areas after an event is torn down.
- Assists the clean-up crew in various cleaning activities in the Complex, as needed.
- Follows, observes, and participates in all Company related safety programs, procedures, and training, as well as reporting Potentially Unsafe Procedures.
Requirements
- Knowledge of maintenance at a level normally acquired through the completion of high school.
- Approximately 6 to 12 months related work experience necessary to gain a full understanding of Show And Conversion Operations.
- Analytical skills necessary to assign work to part-time staff or to revise show layouts to meet building codes.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with all levels of company personnel, outside contractors, and sales personnel when discussing clients' needs and to direct subordinate personnel.
- Must be able to operate forklift (in-house training will be required), hand tools, drill press, circular and table saws, Zamboni (experience is a plus).
- Full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity to operate conversion equipment.
- Eye-hand coordination to operate equipment such as a truck or forklift.
- Standing, climbing, bending, and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Frequently handles and lifts, carries, or pulls items weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.
- Must be able to distinguish and identify colors.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Other Expectations
- Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending, or reaching for extensive periods of time.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and standard office equipment.
- Requires hearing within normal range and eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read communications, reports, and computer terminals.
- Requires working in a fast-paced environment and on occasion, irregular work hours as dictated by schedule of events.
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by event schedule.
- Requires public contact and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with daily workload and a variety of people.
- Normal work environment includes working indoors at the Complex.
