Opportunity on the day shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday) in the southwest suburban Atlanta area.

About the role

The Controls Technician will participate in cell design, integration of controls, and installation of automated equipment. Responsibilities include building and programming PLC panels, configuring, testing, operating, maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting controls and other automated production systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install air-logic controls from prints or schematics (pneumatics).
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits containing check valves, accumulators, cylinders, flow controls, directional control valves, and pressure control valves.
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems using a computer.
  • Install, program, or repair programmable controllers and robot controllers.
  • Use knowledge of fabrication equipment to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Operate equipment or oversee its operation.
  • Analyze and categorize events within the equipment.
  • Work closely with engineers and the production team to achieve desired output.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, including routine upgrades and inspections.
  • Repair machine controls, systems, and tools as needed.
  • Disassemble or re-assemble equipment to repair or replace defective parts.
  • Train others to install, use, and service equipment.
  • Integrate safety circuits.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of related experience.
  • PLC programming.
  • Ladder-logic troubleshooting.
  • Panel building.
  • Electrical experience.
  • Some robotic experience.

Pay

Attractive hourly rate with overtime paid at time-and-a-half.
