PLC and Controls Technician
Job Summary
Utilizes knowledge of PLCs and controls hardware to assist in day-to-day issue resolution and create solutions to larger more complex problems.
Essential Functions
- Work cross functionally with production and engineering departments to ensure goals & objectives are met.
- Develop timelines and prioritize workload to meet schedule needs.
- Aid craftsmen with troubleshooting machines.
- Create and implement solutions to recurring issues.
- Report project status and action items to management on a scheduled basis.
- Research and purchase required outside materials when needed.
- Perform studies and coordinate process improvements.
- Keep PLC programs and schematics up to date.
- Participate in cost savings projects.
- Aid engineering department with all data management, engineering changes, and all other related engineering documentation when needed.
- Aid with customer activities/support as requested.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct reports.
Education & Experience
Associate degree (A. S.) in an industrial PLC & controls discipline or other technical discipline or applicable years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Background Prerequisites
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using SolidWorks or similar CAD software is highly desired.
