Controls Tech I (Nights)

Responsibilities

• Ensures all equipment is running safely and efficiently.
• Trains and assists in troubleshooting and repairing electrical control systems and components for production equipment and machinery.
• Develops and implements plans to reduce downtime in production areas.
• Works with engineering and maintenance teams to modify control systems for improved operations.
• Participates in team meetings and fosters cohesion among team members.
• Advises on Simmons’ operating systems and supports their policies.
• Performs other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electrical control systems and components.
• Knowledge of FactoryTalk, RSLinx, RSLogix 5000, and RSLogix 500.
• Strong understanding of Allen Bradley HMIs, PLCs, relays, and logic diagrams.
• Ability to modify ladder logic programming and read electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with AC/DC motor controls and variable frequency drives.
• Experience with Simmons’ operating systems and policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Some college and/or tech school graduate preferred.
• Preference for industrial controls experience and skills in food manufacturing.
• Military experience is valued.
