Controls Team Lead, Capacity Delivery
We exist to make humanity more free. Technology has historically given people more time for the things they want to do, instead of things they have to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built—but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them—with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators.
About the Team
The Capacity Delivery Team is working on key problems such as:
- Engineering gigawatts from drawing to energized in months, not years. Capacity Delivery owns technical execution across every build: the drawings, the field questions, and the engineering calls that keep multiple concurrent gigawatt sites moving.
- Engineering data centers that go up in months, not years. At that pace, rework is not an option: problems get caught on paper or they cost a data hall.
- Designing it once and building it a hundred times. Every site's lessons roll into the reference design on the way to 10s to 100s of GWs, so each build starts ahead of the last.
Responsibilities
- Own controls engineering across the portfolio: BMS, EPMS, and the integration layer between them.
- Set the controls reference design, architecture, points standards, and sequences, ensuring one standard across every site.
- Drive controls contractors and integrators to that standard, reviewing programming before it reaches commissioning.
- Own the controls interface to commissioning automation so Level 4 and 5 testing gets faster every site.
Requirements
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
- You've led controls engineering for mission-critical or industrial facilities.
- You've written or owned sequences of operations for complex plants.
- You've standardized controls across multiple sites and made integrators comply.
- You know where controls projects fail—points lists, graphics, alarm floods—and you prevent it.
- Bonus: Experience with Niagara or Ignition, EPMS platforms, controls cybersecurity, or commissioning automation.

Compensation Range: $206K - $264K
