Responsibilities
- Work with the team at the facility to maintain and improve PLC and other automation control systems.
- Ensure all work is completed in a safe and reliable manner.
- Train and impart knowledge to mill personnel.
- Engage and work with mill-level personnel to understand their needs and deliver the required help effectively.
- Manage and develop the electrical team.
- Recognize and drive opportunities for improvement, helping local mill management see the same.
- Aid the mill in implementing improvements.
- Assist with project planning, startups, and helping the mill meet/exceed ramp expectations.
- Work with vendors to help the mill maximize uptime.
- Be willing to work flexible hours based on business needs.
Qualifications
- Previous industrial experience.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley products, VFD drives, soft starters, and HMIs.
- Experience with PLC 5 and Control Logix PLC platforms.
- Experience with communication network protocols: Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet.
- Proficiency in computer and Microsoft Office software packages.
- Experience working with high and low voltages.
- Supervisor abilities.
- Experience managing small projects and day-to-day work planning.
- Good track record with troubleshooting skills.
- Proven safe work record.
