About the role

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, seeks a Project Leader to manage control systems projects. The role involves planning, executing, and completing projects with assigned customers, maintaining customer satisfaction, and ensuring project profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Planner and executor of control systems projects
  • Hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout
  • Financial management of projects including costs, billings, and collections
  • Selling change orders and managing communication with customers
  • Selection, ordering, budgeting, and delivery of materials
  • Managing subcontractor payment and billing processes
  • Ensuring proper execution of warranty and providing training to owners/operators
  • Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Attending job progress meetings and coordinating with Project Engineers on bundled jobs

Requirements

  • Field experience in HVAC/Controls industry or similar Building Automation Systems with System Design or System Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Relevant technical hands-on experience in systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems
  • Able to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to perform work independently
  • Strong personal computer skills
  • Knowledge of control theory and HVAC systems

Preferred

  • Knowledge of project accounting, costing principals, and contracting
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to direct the work of others
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Benefits

The position offers a competitive benefits package, including a hiring hourly range of $28.71- $40.48 (hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).
