About the role
This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that include providing updates both internally and externally regarding project status, including but not limited to earned value, cost performance and schedule performance. The Project Controls Specialist coordinates with and supports Project Managers and project teams and interfaces with clients. This position also maintains project documents and records.
Essential Duties And Major Responsibilities
- Covers information needed to create and update project status reports, including financial information, earned value and project status.
- Handles earned value management and client communication.
- Maintains project master drawing list and drawing folders, in addition to maintaining document sharing sites and assisting with job books.
- Creates and updates schedules and understands the workflow of engineering and construction activities.
- Provides support of construction through submittal and request for information (RFI) routing, earned value, and quantity tracking, as well as communicating between field and office.
- Covers meetings and records meeting minutes, then distributes minutes to internal and external project teams.
- Affords support of other duties as assigned.
Work Hours
Company Hours: This position works 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hours vary and are dependent on business needs. 40 Hour Work Week Monday through Friday, Hours may vary with the workload.

Qualifications
- Position Relevant Experience: 1+ year of project controls and industry experience preferred. High School diploma or GED required. Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred. All essential duties listed above.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Problem-solving skills to propose mutually beneficial solutions. Developing leadership skills and some general experience leading work groups or task forces in specific projects. Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, as well as other software required to execute daily tasks. Ability to self-direct and take responsibility for own tasks, deliverables, and timelines.
