Controls Field Specialist

About the role

This role is for a Controls Field Specialist in the Savannah, GA area. The position involves various controls work, including retrofitting control panels and troubleshooting control systems for municipal pump stations.

Qualifications

• Located in the Savannah, GA area
• Living in or near Chatham County, Effingham County, Bryan County, etc.
• At least 2 years' experience in controls troubleshooting or panel building preferred
• A 2-year degree in an electrical controls-related curriculum preferred
• Basic knowledge of electricity and industrial motor control components and systems
• Experience with meggers and multimeters
• The ability to lift heavy items and work on your feet
• Good driving record and ability to drive long distances
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions

Duties

• Troubleshoot general electrical control panel issues at pump stations
• Perform control panel retrofits based on engineered drawings
• Startup of new control panels
• Fabricate new and complete control panels from engineered schematics
• Program and commission variable frequency drives and soft starts
• Submit field service reports with detailed notes and pictures
• Occasional overnight travel (about 10%)
• Occasional weekend work (about 10-15%)
