Summary Of Responsibilities
- Support existing custom applications and the development of new applications.
- This will include computer programming and some system administration skills.
- Use computers and PLCs to control process equipment used in the production and processing of steel.
- Analyze problems to find the root cause, involving some user contact to diagnose the problem.
- Willing to respond to troubleshooting calls on a 24/7 basis.
- Responsible for supporting various locations in the U.S. and Canada.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Able to work independently.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma; Preferred program of study: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Techniques, Industrial Automation, and Industrial Controls.
- Five years of relevant work experience related to industrial automation and design.
- Knowledge of control theory (PID control).
- Knowledge of PLC programming, specifically PLC, HMI, and VFD’s.
- System administration experience with Windows.
- Experience with the Rockwell software: Studio 5000, Factorytalk ME, RS Linx, View Studio.
- Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition both Perspective and Vision.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL.
- Experience with Industrial Networks.
- Willing to travel in support of various FPT locations.
