About the role

As a Controls Engineer at ProMach, you will develop and program robot, PLC, and HMI controls software for robotic packaging automation machinery. You will solve complex challenges to exceed customer expectations and help develop some of the newest technology available in robotic packaging automation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and program robot, PLC, and HMI controls software for robotic packaging automation machinery.
  • Solve complex challenges to exceed customer expectations and help develop some of the newest technology available in robotic packaging automation.
  • Interpret technical specifications and application parameters.
  • Aid in the installation, start up, and commissioning of new machines.
  • Perform software modifications to existing machines.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical hardware engineering teams to execute projects.
  • Partner with all other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum Applied Science (2-year degree) with emphasis in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Automation or Robotic Programming.
  • Experience with PLC programming, HMI development and troubleshooting skills.
  • A general understanding of automation, including high-speed assembly machinery, SCADA/Gantry/Six-Axis Robotics, FANUC robots, and general automation technology.
  • Fanuc Programming and PLC Programming (Allen Bradley).
  • A demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles.
  • An ability to work in a team environment and a focus on customer service.
  • A strong problem identification and resolution skills.
  • A sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • An effective attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and blueprint reading preferred.
  • A willingness to travel up to 25 percent.

Qualifications
