Controls Engineer

About the role

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Randleman, NC, focused on designing, programming, and commissioning factory automation systems. The position emphasizes Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs, FANUC robotics, HMIs, motion control, and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Develop control architectures and create electrical schematics.
• Configure hardware and program/integrate automation equipment.
• Test systems for safe and reliable operation.
• Work closely with project teams and customers during design, installation, troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning.
• Provide documentation and ongoing technical support.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience programming Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs, including development, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Experience programming and integrating FANUC industrial robots for automated machinery and production systems.
• Working knowledge of HMIs, motion control, industrial networks, safety systems, and machine-level automation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing electrical, PLC, robot, and system integration issues.
• Ability to read and develop electrical schematics and collaborate closely with electrical and mechanical teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers during installation, startup, and commissioning.
• Experience with factory automation or system integration is strongly preferred.
