Controls Engineer
Position Description
The Manufacturing Engineering position is a key partner in the organization responsible for the Electrode process technology. The engineer will be trained and developed in Mitsubishi PLC programming to:
- Program the automation and controls systems of various manufacturers (Italy, Japan, Korea)
- Create, monitor, and modify logic for program design, simulation and testing, start-up, and troubleshooting
- Manipulate these items using Mitsubishi: Q Series PLC Networking with CC-Link & SSCNET III Motion control with servo motor & robot
- Integrate and implement various systems such as: Bar Code & RFID Reading, Robot, Ultrasonic Welding, Vision, Weigh Scale, Gas Sampling, etc.
Job Responsibilities
The engineer will perform the following functions:
- Continuous improvement
- Investigating and troubleshooting equipment/manufacturing/facility problems
- Analyzing production results
- Implementing and improving manufacturing methods and processes
- Ensuring high yield and productivity in a highly automated manufacturing environment
- Interaction with internal and external customers and external vendors to solve urgent and complex problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives to provide support of all in-plant production as required
Qualifications And Competencies
- Bachelor of Science or associate degree in electrical engineering preferred or Automation (or related) required
- 0 to 3 Years Industrial Controls Experience - Experience working in a manufacturing or automotive engineering environment through an internship, co-op, entry level job role, or similar highly preferred
- Exposure to controls and electrical systems design, automation, mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing assembly equipment
- Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills
- Exposure or education in Battery systems or processes a plus but not required
- Bilingual Korean/English preferred
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Promote workplace safety

Employment Eligibility
Individuals who need sponsorship for work authorization, now or in the future, are not eligible for hire for this role. Employee may be exposed to or working with hazardous materials and/or hazardous waste. Upon hire, employee will receive initial Environmental training over RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, and emergency escalation. Annual refresher training will be completed every year after to fulfill the requirements of 40 CFR. Other training to be provided as required.
