Controls Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in defining, designing, programming, and debugging a variety of testing solutions involving real-time control and data acquisition systems
• Aid in the management of projects, both large and small with cross-functional teams
• Use engineering knowledge and experience to continue to improve existing methods of product testing
• Design new products and/or apply variations of existing products, including pumps and engine control strategy development and testing
• Communicate task results and progress through oral and written presentations for internal and external customers

Qualifications

• General knowledge of electronic hardware, including sensors, actuators, and motors
• Working knowledge of electronic test equipment and instrumentation, including digital oscilloscopes
• Ability to organize and plan work on small individual tasks
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Basic ability and understanding of programming using either LabVIEW, PLC ladder logic, or other embedded control languages
• Experience with software controls and software development tools, preferably in an automotive environment
• Prior experience or willingness to learn electromechanical components, such as used in gasoline or diesel fuel injection systems

Education and/or Experience

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of electrical engineering experience, electronic controls or product testing experience
• Prior experience or willingness to learn electromechanical components, such as used in gasoline or diesel fuel injection systems
