Controls Engineer

As part of a diverse team, you’ll contribute to meaningful work while traveling to US project sites for Controls Commissioning. After commissioning, you’ll work on design activities, including as-built drawings, to gain familiarity with our customer’s in-house design tools.
Responsibilities
- Travel approximately 80% to different customer locations.
- Perform on-site project commissioning of material handling logistics systems integrating mechatronic hardware and software (primarily convey/sort technologies).
- Troubleshoot PLC and hardware-related issues.
- Seek guidance on non-routine or complex equipment and system areas.
- Identify and resolve problems as they occur.
- Recommend ideas for productivity improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced customer satisfaction.
- Provide regular commissioning status/progress updates to leadership.
- Support on-site reliability, performance, and volume testing, system start-up, go-live, and post-go-live customer support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Electrical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering preferred).
- Up to 2 years of experience in a related field (an Engineering Degree may substitute for experience where applicable).
- Proficient in or ability to learn reading CAD/schematic drawings, equipment technical specifications, troubleshooting techniques, and testing equipment.
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of professional behavior principles, including communication, collaboration, courage, training, and teamwork.
- Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with customers, co-workers, vendors, and sub-contractors.
- Self-driven and proactive behaviors.
Work Environment
- 80% travel to customer locations.
- Shop floor environment with extensive walking and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- When not at customer sites, remote work on design activities such as as-built drawings.
Pay
$45 to $56 per hour.
