Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, and implement control systems that meet client requirements.
- Create schematic diagrams and technical documentation.
- Program controllers (PLC, DCS, RTU) and process visualization systems (HMI/SCADA).
- Develop and manage databases for archiving and historical data display.
- Support system check-out, commissioning, and on-site implementation at client facilities.
- Work with various programming languages including Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, VBA, .NET, and SQL.
- Collaborate with project teams, lead technical efforts, and mentor junior engineers/technicians as needed.
- Occasionally act as Project Manager on smaller projects.
Must Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in control systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of: PLC hardware/software (Rockwell Automation).
- HMI/SCADA platforms (Rockwell Automation, Inductive Automation Ignition).
- DCS systems (Emerson DeltaV).
- Proficiency in VBA, .NET, and SQL for HMI/SCADA system development.
- Experience creating schematics and documentation.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with industrial networking (fiber, wired, wireless) and protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
- Knowledge of electrical schematics, power distribution under 480VAC, NEC standards, and control panels.
- Familiarity with automation protocols such as HART, Foundation Fieldbus, OPC, Modbus TCP/IP.
- Strong leadership and client-facing skills.
- Familiarity with S88 Batch standards.
- Experience in life science regulatory environments (cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11).
- Knowledge of GAMP5, software/system development life cycles, and validation.
- Additional database experience (SQL).
