About the role
This position is responsible for supporting production by maintaining warehouse accuracy and promptly fulfilling parts requests, which is vital to production success. The role requires an individual who is highly focused on safety, can handle a high volume of parts requests, and has the ability to prioritize. It is essential that a Material Handler can work successfully both independently and as part of a diverse team, continuously striving to improve productivity, effectiveness, quality, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Read, sort, and process complete orders.
- Issue parts to the lines as needed and operate a forklift to move and deliver parts to the line in a timely manner.
- Operate power hand tools, scanners, computers, and work with various other equipment.
- Assist with maintenance of warehouse inventory and with loading and unloading trucks.
- Notify supervisor of any mechanical or defective material issues.
- Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
- Communicate in oral or written English to carry out essential functions.
- Read and understand visual and written assembly instructions on a computer screen to retrieve parts from a pick list.
- Be cross-trained in multiple functions within and between multiple department lines.
- Effectively work with others.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Computer classes or production experience helpful.
- Forklift certification required.
- Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with on-call responsibilities as part of this role.
Pay
$85,000–$103,000 annually.
