Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
About the role
As a Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting Manufacturing Operations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Design, modify, and support automated manufacturing equipment and production systems.
- Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC programs using Rockwell Automation ControlLogix and related platforms.
- Develop and support HMI applications and operator interfaces.
- Integrate manufacturing equipment with plant-wide control systems and industrial networks.
- Perform startup, commissioning, debugging, and validation activities on new and modified equipment.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Siemens HMI and industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profinet).
- Electrical controls systems and troubleshooting expertise.
- Experience supporting automated assembly, robotics, conveyance, or manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
