Controls Engineer

Must be a US citizen or green-card holder. Location: Kansas City, KS. Full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Support feasibility studies and assist with cost estimation
• Define system requirements based on client specifications
• Design system architecture (PLC, HMI, DCS, I/O, and network infrastructure)
• Develop electrical control panel designs and schematics
• Specify instrumentation and control components
• Program and implement PLC systems (Rockwell preferred)
• Develop HMI/SCADA applications (FactoryTalk, Wonderware, Ignition, etc.)
• Support historian and data analytics solutions
• Lead or assist with system startup and commissioning
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Communicate project progress, risks, and costs to internal stakeholders
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
• Travel to client sites for project execution (approx. 20-25%)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Chemical preferred)
• Strong knowledge of process control, PLC programming, and SCADA/HMI systems
• Experience with industrial communication protocols and control system design
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Motivated to learn and adapt to new technologies
