Controls Engineer

Job Scope

The Controls Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing plant automation and control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. This role combines hands-on technical support with continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on equipment reliability, cybersecurity, compliance, and production performance within an industrial manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Industrial Controls, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 4+ years of controls or automation experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Skills and Knowledge: Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills; solid understanding of industrial automation systems and control networks; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities; effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams; adaptability and willingness to work in a dynamic industrial environment; commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence; ability to research and apply Huntsman, ISO, and applicable regulatory and professional standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical engineering degree.
• Manufacturing industry experience within chemicals or related industries.
• Experience supporting IT/OT integration and industrial cybersecurity initiatives.
• Prior experience leading automation-related capital or improvement projects.
• Familiarity with vendor management and system integrator coordination.

• Salary Range: $90,600 / $135,800 per year.
