Controls Engineer

This position supports our engineering team in all stages of control system projects, including Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programming, electrical design, system testing, and commissioning for compressed air control systems and product development.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical and controls system design solutions based on engineering principles.
• Provide technical support to customers and resolve operational problems to minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
• Ensure project success whether leading or participating in a project team.
• Interpret client requirements, identify design parameters, and address engineering problems.
• Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations, including electrical and motor control needs.
• Create and finalize designs to meet project specifications.
• Define equipment and parts from external suppliers.
• Conduct cost and time estimation for projects.
• Design electrical and software solutions for manufacturing automation and safety systems.
• Create customer documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawings.
• Commission customized products and systems onsite and at customer facilities.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of related job experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Proficient with Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programming, including Studio 5000, FactoryTalk ME, SE, and Optix.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs.
• Ability to efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals.
• Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills; able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to balance multiple projects.
• Excellent driving record.
