Controls Engineer

About the role

BrainWorks Search is partnered with a leading automotive manufacturer outside of Detroit seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join its team. This is a hands-on, plant-floor-focused role supporting controls and automation within a highly automated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot PLCs and automated manufacturing equipment
• Utilize ladder logic to diagnose controls-related issues
• Determine whether equipment issues are related to the physical machine or software/controls
• Support robotics and automated manufacturing cells
• Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to troubleshoot equipment downtime
• Provide hands-on controls support on the manufacturing floor

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of controls, automation, electrical, or industrial maintenance experience preferred
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and ladder-logic experience
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens controls preferred
• Die-casting experience strongly preferred; injection molding or extrusion environments will also be considered

Pay

Base salary: $80,000–$110,000, with flexibility based on experience
