Controls Engineer Summary In this position, you will initiate and control the engineering, design, development, and testing of electrical control systems for various types of manufacturing, assembly, material handling, and process control operations. May travel to customer sites as needed. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Perform control system engineering and design using standardized methods and practicesDetailing and design of electrical control panelsWriting and editing PLC software (Allen-Bradley ControlLogix)Editing and entering programmable operator interface softwarePerform the startup and debug of control systems of tools and equipmentProviding technical support for the installation of tools and equipmentProviding technical support for training of customer personnelRepresent a professional company image in all customer contract situationsFlexibility with travelPotential for long term assignments to solve facility related problems Qualifications 2-5 years Automation / Controls experienceBachelors preferred or equivalent work experienceGM Experience preferredRockwell and Siemens PLC / HMI experiencePerform control system engineering and design using standardized methods and practicesDetailing and design of electrical control panelsPrefer Servo experience (Kinetic / Simatics)Editing and entering programmable operator interface softwarePerform the startup and debug of control systems of tools and equipmentProviding technical support for training of customer personnel Education And Experience Required minimum High School Diploma with 5-8 years minimum Automation / Controls experiencePreferred associate or bachelor’s degree with 3 years’ work experienceDetailing and design of electrical control panelsGCCH and GCCS certifications for some clientsOSHA 10, Lockout training certificate preferred Job Location: Warren, MI About AMI Automation Movers International is a full-service mechanical integration company specializing in the installation and movement of production and automation equipment.
